We love Blueberries

It's berry time in Alaska and there are a zillion blueberry, huckleberry, and salmonberry bushes in our backyard. We also have tons of strawberries. Each year during July and August we pick berries to our hearts content and still have so many that we have to invite friends over to pick their fill..... We are so lucky to have such a bounty of fresh berries to choose from because fresh berries taste so yummy and they are so good for you....

  Although we didn't list any sites with recipes for salmonberries, you can use these berries as you would any other berry. They are plentiful in Alaska and very hard to control. In fact, Grampa says that all the salmon berry bushes in Ketchikan are connected to each other because their roots are so long. Grampa's so funny.......
